Superfrog or Tony Heugh, started out as a professional forester. Since 1982 he has also had a superficial interest in spearfishing. In his early years he custom built many of his spearguns.
In 1995 he emigrated to Australia and took up employment with DPI Forestry in Queensland.
He developed an association with Rob Allen through his interest in spearfishing and believed implicitly in his products. Tony actively promoted the Rob Allen range, rapidly expanding his small buiness as a sideline. During 1997,Tony stopped working as a forester and concentrated on his spearfishing business.
In 2000 Tony designed his own range of spearguns and began manufacturing in Australia. The Edge brand was launched after extensive surveys and input from many of Australia's top spearfishermen.
Tony has been actively involved in competition spearfishing since 1985 when he participated in his first National championships in South Africa. He has been promoting the Australian Underwater Federation and their endevour to secure a long term future for the sport. He believes that spearfishermen should lead the way in adopting sound ethics, good sportsmanship and conservative fishing. "Our standards can and should be higher than that of other fishermen, as we have control over what we take and can be selective!"
Tony is a quiet achiever who has represented Australia in Freediving and Spearfishing.
